"A couple years ago I bought
one of those mosquito-catching machines, this one called
"Skeeter-Vac" It uses a chemical attractant, a propane-fired
burner that generates CO2, heat and moisture, and a big
sticky striped surface. A thermo-electric generator
powers a group of flashing visible, IR, and UV LEDs and
a blower that sucks attracted bugs into the mesh drawer.
In the first weeks it harvested a couple hundred down to
5 a day. The succeeding months had unchanging low
performance, but we noticed nearly ZERO mosquitoes in the
yard to diminish out outdoor activities, even morning and
evening. For the few remaining bugs we burn citronella
coils (very effective). Neighbors reported spontaneously
that mosquito populations at their houses, up to 100m distant,
had declined. They attributed the change to the City's
occasional driveby with the little spray truck. I think
it's likely that over time, this machine draws down populations
in a large area, just as scholarly (Univ. of Fla. Gainesville)
reports and manufacturer's literature suggest.
Last
week brought really 'Tropical' weather, with about 10" of
rain in a couple days. The back yard filled in low
spots to about 10% of the area and stayed for several days.
There was no apparent change in mosquito populations for
2 days after. On the third day I checked the catch
basket on the 'Vac and found over a thousand deceased mosquitoes.
Since then, the catch has been more than 500 a day.
We are suffering from a few more bugs in the house but not
outdoors. The sticky surface is similarly quickly filled,
mostly with flies, in 3 days versus 3 weeks previously.
The weather here has been VERY humid and uncomfortable.
It's rough to pinpoint causation when more than one
characteristic changes Not only was the weather/bug hatching
different, but the LEDs failed, just as I powered it up
after returning to USA last week. Again, we have had
several very wet periods since I bought it that didn't result
in high yields, but not quite so wet.
Things are
drying out now, and if yields continue much higher than
in August, I must surmise that the LEDs actually repelled
the bugs and this machine is MIRACULOUS."

"I just assembled my SV-3000,
that was easy! Hooked up the propane and lit it at 5:00
pm. I spent 1 hour watering my lawn by hand from 7-8 PM
and not a single mosquito landed on me! normally I am brushing
off several. I had to peek in the tray this morning to see
how many were in there. Hundreds! Several flew out before
I could get the tray slid back in! This is a gerrrreat product!
I'm looking forward to finally being able to be playing
baseball with my kids in my yard in the evening after 7PM."

"We got in our Skeeter Vac last month
and we are EXTREMELY pleased. I changed the propane tank
and emptied the bag after 22 days. The whole back of the
bag was filled. I guesstimate 3000 mosquitos were dried
& dead inside. Even now we can walk in our backyard - and
mosquitos don't bite (after only 1 month). Occasional gnats
are all that is around. What a difference! Your machine
works great! Thanks again." A.C., Florida
"I have horses on my property. With
the West Niles virus proposing a deathly problem to my horses,
I decided to try your product to improve my mosquito control.
I am very happy to say that my mosquito problem is almost
entirely eliminated in all areas on the front side of the
machine. I can now work outside, my horses don't paw
and stomp in the pasture and we can enjoy the summer without
being eaten alive. To cover the rear of the property,
I have invested in a second machine. My deepest appreciation
to your company for doing such a fine job with mosquito
control. I am telling all my "horse" friends about
your product!" G.B. Minnesota
"... SkeeterVac is the greatest thing
since sliced bread, night baseball and canned beer. It has
done wonders at getting rid of the skeeters. We live in
a heavily wooded area which is very wet most of the time."

"I have purchased one of your SkeeterVac
machines. The machine is working very well, and I am impressed
in the quality of the construction." M.C., Alaska
"I am the proud new owner of one of your
propane mosquito traps. I must say I was impressed with
the ease of the assembly and the directions provided. It
is not often I can say that about other products I have
purchased." C.C., South Carolina
"We bought one SkeeterVac and loved it
so much, that we bought two more! Thanks for such a great
product." S.M., Alaska
"I have a SkeeterVac SV-35. It has been
an awesome for stopping mosquito problems in my own back
yard i am a true believer in the machine. I have been constantly
asked where do you get it ? Or how does it work . I pride
to be owner of SkeeterVac SV-35." M.K., Virginia
Amazing product!!! I've have been
through 5 mosquito magnets in three years. Your product
has worked fantastic. Much more reliable. Thank
you for making a great product. I use to pray
every time I'd change my tank on the Mosquito Magnet on
whether or not it would start again. I kid you not
that last year I returned five consecutive MM to Home Depot
because I couldn't get the units to fire. Talk about
a crappy product. MM said it was my tanks. The
Skeeter Trap fired up on the same LP tanks, all four of
them, out of the box and every time after 4 tank changes.
I'm telling everyone I know to change.
Keep up the great job!
