All ThermaCELL Mosquito Repellent Appliances require these butane cartridges and repellent mats to operate. Butane provides the cordless, portable heat that activates these repellent devices which in turn heats a metal grid beneath the repellent mat, vaporizes the insect repellant and releases it into the air.

Each butane cartridges included in this refill package will power your ThermaCELL mosquito repellent device for up to 12 hours. If you do not use the entire butane cartridge all at once, you can turn the repellant device off and turn it back on at any given time. Butane cartridges are not perishable and they can be stored for long periods of time.

The repellent mats that are included in this refil package contain the insect repellent allethrin, a synthetic copy of a mosquito repellent that naturally occurs in chrysanthemum flowers. Each repellant mat will protect up to a 15' x 15' area and provide up to 4 hours of effective mosquito control.

Additional Information	Refills can be stored for long periods of time. Cartridges and mats don't need to be used all at one time. For example, one could use the cartridge and mat for an hour a day.
